Novomatic Ready for Global Growth with New Transaction in Italy

NOVOMATIC, one of the premium gaming technology Groups in Europe, continues with its global expansion after the completion of one of the biggest transactions in history: the acquisition of the HBG Group. This milestone will see the company becoming one of the biggest concessionaires in Italy. The takeover is already approved by the Italian Autonomous Administration of State Monopolies (AAMS) and the company shows its leadership.

Novomatic has been working in Italy for 15+ years and it has already become a leader in the VLT market thanks to the trust of its licensed business partners in the Group’s latest solutions and services. HBG Gaming is among the giants in the Italian market, and it works as a concessionaire of VLTs (Video Lottery Terminals) and AWPs (Amusement with Prizes). In addition, the company is active in the online gaming and sports betting sectors, while also operating bingo brands.

Apart from being a leader in the tech market, NOVOMATIC is also one of the biggest operators of VLTs and AWPs in the Italian market. It will focus on the further development of online casino and sportsbook products in the future. Thanks to the new transaction, the number of workers in the Group has enhanced to more than 3,000 in Italy and over 21,900 across the globe.

Reacting to the new milestone, NOVOMATIC Executive Board Member Ryszard Presch says that thanks to the latest acquisition, NOVOMATIC is sending a signal of additional international extension and can duplicate its market share as a concessionaire in one of the most important European markets.

On the other side, NOVOMATIC Executive Board Member Johannes Gratzl said:

NOVOMATIC AG Group is a global producer of gaming tech solutions established by Professor Johann F. Graf in 1980. The Group holds about 212,000 gaming and video lottery terminals (VLTs) in 2,000+ gaming operations and via rental concepts.

As a reminder, the company has recently claimed second place based on the European Brand Institute (EBI) ranking, with a brand value of EUR 3.033 billion.
