PayPal is a well-known brand and the world’s largest e-wallet with over 100 million active users. It’s an accepted payment method and used by top-tier online casinos, especially in UK, Spain and Germany. Digital wallets like Skrill and Neteller focus on the iGaming industry with majority of their customers being either poker, sports betting or casino players, but PayPal is much different. Their core business seems to be eBay customers and regular day to day P2P payments. It's a bit harder to actually find good live dealer casinos that accepted PayPal, but we've managed to get a few listed.

Making Deposits With This Method

To make a deposit you firstly need to create a PayPal account and link your bank account or credit card. After this simple process, you will be able to top up your casino account with this payment method. Deposits are normally free and processed instantly. The funds will appear in your player account shortly afterwards. Deposit limits using PayPal are generally very high.

Making Withdrawals With This Method

Withdrawals can take up to 24 hours, depending on a casino and some minor processing fees are likely to be involved. Together with other e-wallets PayPal is a great option for those who want to enjoy their winnings as quickly as possible.

Our Opinion

If you are from the UK, Ireland, Germany or Spain this is a great casino payment solution and up to par with what Skrill and Neteller offers in most countries. Outside of these countries you are unlikely to be able to use PayPal for gambling related deposits/withdrawals though, so the two aforementioned e-wallets are probably your best bet.

Frequently Asked Questions About PayPal

Yes. When we conducted our research Ladbrokes and Grosvenor both had a £5 minimum deposit for PayPal. If this information is no longer accurate please get in touch so we can update it.
PayPal's non restricted list currently includes UK, Ireland, Germany, Spain, Denmark, Italy, Sweden, Norway and USA (for New Jersey residents only).
Currently PayPal is available for deposits at casinos that are licensed in the state of New Jersey. Betfair is one of them and they do offer PayPal as one of the deposit options. Outside of NJ the answer is no. Though it's pretty realistic that PayPal casino deposits will be available in more states in the future, as they slowly legalise online gambling across USA.

It is a usefull tool for rewards and sending money to other people or accounts, but PayPal is not the best option for funding your accounts. It is a good funding tool for specific regions (America) but the deposit and withdrawal options are limited for the online casinos and is not that readily available.

I'd recommend rather using crypto coins instead of using PayPal.

PayPal is one of the best options for funding an online casino account. It transfers money quickly, safely, and doesn't add on a bunch of fees. I use my PayPal account to purchase crypto currency from mu Coinbase account. I've never encountered any issues with this payment method.

Using PayPal to do your banking is a pretty good method. The transactions are almost instant and easy to complete. Only issue is sometimes PayPal likes to stop crypto transactions for security purposes. It can become a bit of a hassle when PayPal does this type of behavior.

Paypal is generally a easy to use no hassle way to pay for things and I enjoy that I can use paypals service or google pay with my paypal debit card. It makes it easier for my multi-exspense online needs.

Not something I can recommend for any crypto gaming transactions, at least for US users. If you withdraw directly from a casino to PayPal over and over your account WILL be closed and probably have anything in your account taken. This isn't a question, it is a fact.

If needing to use PayPal make sure to send to middle self custody wallet first and then to PayPal. Better options available.

PayPal is great for anything that has any slight chance of messing up, can't beat the insurance they give their customers. Instant payouts easy cheap push to debit 0.25 cents can't beat that. I would like to see more promotional offers with PayPal and especially like to see PayPal do more in the crypto world

I highly recommend using PayPal at online casinos that offer this option! It's reliable and, above all, fast, with efficient transaction tracking! And most importantly, it's a low-cost method! It's also very simple, with good transaction tracking and an intuitive interface.

It's really only usable with German-licensed businesses. And if you use it anywhere else, please don't! PayPal is listed with BaFin (the German banking supervisory authority) and is obligated to provide information in case of doubt. Given the current situation in Germany, this could have serious consequences.

PayPal is great for sending and receiving money hell you can send to any email and then all they have to do is sign up to claim the money it has truly revolutionized online payments especially with there buyers protection and the integration with eBay.

As a funding source for online casinos they aren't always offered as a way to replenish your balance but there are several operators that allow you to use PayPal.
