In the second quarter of 2023, Spain saw a substantial 55.1% surge in gross gambling revenue, reaching €312.6 million (£207.0 million/$332.6 million) compared to the previous year. The revenue from sports betting more than doubled. The total revenue for this quarter comfortably outperformed last year and was also 2.5% higher than the €313.3 million recorded in Q1. These figures have been released by Spain’s gambling regulatory body, the Directorate General for the Regulation of Gambling (DGOJ).
The highest Gross Gambling Revenue (GGR) in Q2 was generated by casinos totaling €149.9 million, marking a 27.9% increase from the previous year and a 4.5% rise from Q1.
