Live Roulette Games Streamed From Land Based Casinos
The main aim of a live roulette table is to bring you closer to the action. Nothing quite beats the excitement of an actual physical ball as it clatters across the spinning numbers – a virtual wheel and ball will never be exactly the same.
Some players enjoy the presence of a live croupier, giving the whole business a human touch. Some enjoy the sound and motion of the wheel. Some even feel more comfortable knowing that a roulette wheel is actually spinning, rather than Random Number Generators whirring behind the scenes at a server farm.
Well, how about taking this experience one step further? That’s what many online casinos have done, with roulette tables streamed from actual brick & mortar casinos. And not just any casinos either. Some of the world’s oldest and most prestigious land-based casinos have signed up to have their classic wheels streamed online, and the top developers in the game have scrambled to make this a reality.
From the Dragonara Casino in Malta, streamed by Evolution Gaming, to London’s historic Crockford’s Gaming Room exclusively streamed at Genting Live Dealer Casino – there’s a lot of choices out there. But which brick and mortar casino venue offers the best live stream experience? We broke them down by provider and casino, so you can find the best offer for you.
Note: We tested most of the games at Leo Vegas Live Casino, so the betting limits are accurate for this casino. The only exception to this are the two Genting tables.
Evolution Gaming Land-Based Live Roulette Tables
Limits: £0.50 – £2000
Casino Opened: 1964
Streamed from the Dragonara Casino in St. Julian’s on the Mediterranean Island of Malta, this roulette table from Evolution is offered at a host of online casinos including LeoVegas. The Dragonara first opened as a casino in 1964, but it was built in 1870 as a palatial residence for the Marquis de Scicluna.
Built on the Dragonara promontory, local legend tells of a dragon that dwells in caves under the rocks – although the more likely truth is that smugglers spread to the story to ward off interlopers! Today the palace is owned by Dragonara Casino Ltd, who have spent £15 million turning into the most popular casino in Malta.
The table itself is usually busy with online and casino floor patrons, especially on weekend evenings when it can get hectic with locals and tourists alike trying to get in on the action. Bets here start at £0.50 and go up to £2000 a spin. This table is a dual-play table, meaning online and Dragonara casino players play at the same table.
Grand Casino Roulette
Limits: £1 – £5000
Casino Opened: 2008
Streamed from Bucharest’s busiest casino, with Grand Casino roulette players can experience the vibe of a top European live casino in action. Although it may not be as old as some of the others on this list, the Grand Casino is still a tidy operation and its tables are busy throughout the day and night. Bets start at £1 and go as high as £5000. As with the other Evolution titles, Grand Casino Roulette is a dual play table.
Hippodrome Casino Roulette
Limits: £1 – £20,000
Casino Opened: 1964
The Hippodrome is one of London’s oldest and most famous casinos and entertainment venue. Opened as a theatre in 1907, this iconic building in London’s glitzy west end has since been a nightclub, cabaret venue and more. Stars such as a young Charlie Chaplin, Sammy Davis Jr, Stevie Wonder and Harry Houdini have played here over the years.
Now, thanks to a partnership with Evolution, casino fans the world over can experience a little of the glamour of this famous venue. And, with a maximum bet of a dizzying £20,000 per spin, prestigious is definitely the name of the game here. You can join the Hippodrome Online Live Roulette dual-play table after 8 pm every day of the week, at various online casinos or the Hippodrome’s own site.
Shangri La Roulette
Casino Opened: 2012
Shangri La Roulette is Evolution’s latest dual-play casino stream offering, streaming from the Shangri La Casino in Tbilisi, Georgia. However, at the time of writing this review it has not yet been launched – so details are a little thin on the ground.
The Shangri La is a modern casino in a vibrant modern capital city, so the atmosphere at any streamed roulette tables there should be excellent. As it is being streamed by Evolution and is quite near to the new live dealer studio they have recently opened, you’re guaranteed a top-tier streaming experience.
Genting Birmingham & Manchester
Limits: £0.20 – £2000
Casino Founded: 1965
Genting is one of the UK’s biggest casino brands, with over 42 land-based casinos in the British Isles. However, the Genting Group was founded in Malaysia and has casinos all over the world. They now partner with Evolution to live-stream two of their own roulette tables, in their Birmingham and Manchester Casinos.
Everything about Genting’s live streamed tables looks great – the bright coloured betting table and the ornate spinning Genting logo on the top of the wheel in particular. However, the camera moves about a bit too much for our liking, especially when the ball is spinning. The stream was consistently top quality though, with a steady 1080p even a less-than-excellent connection. Bets start at £0.20 (good for low rollers) and go up to £2000 for spread bets.
Authentic Gaming Tables
Authentic Roulette Casino International
Limits: £0.50 – £250
Casino Opened: ?
Unlike Evolution’s offerings, this Authentic Gaming brick & mortar casino stream is exclusively for online players. Although the wheel is in the physical casino, actual visitors to the casino floor aren’t allowed to play. This keeps some of the croupier-player interactivity offered by your usual live casino roulette tables while retaining the full casino floor experience of a streamed game.
In this case, Authentic are streaming from the Casino International at the Hilton Hotel in Batumi, Georgia. Also streamed from this land casino is Casino Floor Live Roulette.
Bets start at £0.50 and go up to £250 per spin. A multi-camera view is available too, which regularly switches between being zoomed in on the ball and an overview of the whole table.
Authentic Roulette Platinum Casino
Limits: £0.50 – £50
Casino Opened: 2010
This Authentic Streamed Roulette Table is a dual-play table, allowing online players to play with guests at the Platinum Casino in Bucharest. According to their website, they are the biggest casino in Romania, although we couldn’t find any external sources for this.
Being a dual play table means you lose some of the player-dealer interactivity, but you get the entire casino floor experience as you win or lose with physical players. However, we noticed that the stream quality on this particular table was not as good – and there was only one camera angle. It was also relatively quiet during our review, although we did not visit at peak times. Bets start at £0.50 and go up to the relatively low £50 per spin.
Authentic Roulette Foxwoods
Location: Connecticut, USA
Limits: £1 – £250
Casino Opened: 1986
Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut, USA is the only US-based casino floor live roulette stream that we know of. Run by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribe and built on their reservation land, it is one of the biggest casino resorts by area in the US.
Again, this is a dual-play European roulette table without dealer interactivity for online players, although it does have multiple camera angles. Being such a busy resort, the Foxwoods table is always buzzing with activity and background noise which conveys a bustling casino floor experience very well. It’s not Vegas – but it will do online players nicely. Bets begin at £1 and go as high as £250 a spin.
Authentic Roulette Saint Vincent
Limits: £2 – £100
Casino Opened: 1947
Opened in 1947, the St Vincent Casino Resort in the Aosta Valley region of Northern Italy has truly spectacular mountainous surroundings.
Their online roulette live stream with Authentic Gaming is unique too – seeing as it combines two roulette tables from the casino floor into one stream. Unfortunately, this does put a heavy load on your connection. However, when it does work it is exciting to be able to bet on two separate spins at once! This speeds up play for online players, especially during busy casino hours.
Both these tables are dual-play, so there are no interactions between the casino croupiers and online players. However, just from listening, we found the croupier’s English wasn’t always great anyway – so you’re probably not missing out on much.
Authentic Roulette Royal Casino
Limits: £2 – £300
Casino Opened: 1838 (?)
Authentic’s Live Casino Lobby claimed that this stream comes from a Danish Casino that’s been open since 1838. We couldn’t find any reports to back that up, but the venue certainly looks regal enough from the outside. Based in Denmark’s second city Aarhus, Royal Casino Group are the first Danish casino operators to provide a live-streamed roulette table.
Only available between 18:00 and 03:00, Royal Casino Roulette is a dual-player table with multiple camera angles. Oh, and its available in 4k definition too which is great for players whose tech can handle it. Bets start at £2 and go up to £300 a spin.
Leo Vegas is Our #1 Choice For Playing Land Based Live Roulette
Portomaso Gaming Roulette Tables
Limits: £1 – £500
Casino Opened: ?
Live streamed from the Portomaso Casino on the gambling haven that is the Mediterranean island of Malta, Portomaso’s live casino roulette offering was simply not as good quality as Evolution’s or most of Authentic’s. With only one solitary camera angle and an (unusually loud) robotic voice announcing the wins and calling bets, this dual-play table doesn’t really do the casino floor justice.
If you want the feel of a real casino experience, there are far more vibrant and immersive tables than this one. Which is a shame because Portomaso casino is otherwise a top gambling venue. It also has a relatively low bet max, starting at £1 and going up to £50 a spin.
Limits: £0.5 – £2000
Casino Opened: 2007
A lot better than Portomaso’s offering above, this table is also streamed from a Maltese casino – this time The Oracle in St Paul’s Bay in the north of the island. As the name suggests it has a proliferation of camera shots, covering the spinning wheel from all angles for maximum engagement and legitimacy. The Oracle seemed to be a busier casino, the croupier seemed interested and engaged in announcing bets and winners and the stream was consistently in top quality 1080p.
Although this table did still suffer from Portomaso’s overly loud robotic announcer voice, with all the extra immersion offered this was something we were willing to forgive. Bets started at £0.5 and went up to a £2000 spread.
Oracle Casino Roulette
Like Portamaso roulette above, the solitary camera, overly loud announcements and muted casino background audio at this table serve to ruin player’s immersion somewhat.
This table is streamed from the same Oracle Casino as the Roulette360 table, so we therefore know it is possible to have a top tier experience streamed from this casino. But somehow this table does not capture that atmosphere. Bets here start at £0.5 and go up to £50.
Extreme Live Gaming (Now Pragmatic Play)
Casino Admiral (Gibraltar)
Limits: £1 – £25,000
Casino Opened: N/A
Streamed from the Admiral Casino in Gibraltar’s Ocean Village resort, Extreme Live do a decent job of bringing the casino floor atmosphere to your desktop or mobile device. With a range of camera angles (some of them a bit rubbish to be honest though) you can get an engaging view of the usually busy casino, a close up of the ball as it spins around the wheel or a few other options.
However, this is a dual-play table. That limits the interactions you can have with the live croupier, and sometimes we found the going to be quite slow during our experience. Betting starts at £1 and goes up to £25000 – which is decent for high-rolling and low-budget players alike. Lastly, this table is only open from 18:00 until 03:00.
Grand Casino Admiral (Zagreb)
Limits: £1 – £500
Casino Opened: 2016
This roulette table is live streamed from one of the Croatian capital’s newest casinos. It was busy enough when we visited and gave off a vibrant casino floor atmosphere. The live croupier looked like he’d rather have been somewhere else though and did not go about his tasks with any kind of enthusiasm.
This put a dampener on our experience a little bit right from the get-go. Like Extreme’s other streamed roulette tables, this was a dual-play experience so there was no way to interact with the table host – even if he’d looked like he wanted too.
The Extreme Live interface was good enough and simple to use. Bets start at £1 and go up to £500 a spin. Again, the Grand Casino Admiral table was only open between 18:00 and 03:00.
