Playtech Enters Connecticut iGaming Market

Playtech has extended its footprint in the United States by launching operations in Connecticut, marking its presence in a sixth regulated iGaming market. The move reflects the company’s continued focus on expanding within jurisdictions that permit online gambling, as demand for digital casino offerings grows across the country.

The company secured an Online Gaming Service Provider licence from the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection, allowing it to deliver its content to players in the state. This development strengthens Playtech’s existing relationships with licensed operators and builds on its multi-state strategy in the US.

With the Connecticut launch, local players can now access a range of Playtech’s iGaming products, including a mix of customized and exclusive titles. The company said its portfolio has performed well in other regulated US markets and expects a similar response in Connecticut.

Alongside its geographic expansion, Playtech has also introduced a new live casino product developed in collaboration with Entain and Blueprint Gaming Ltd. The game, Fishin’ Frenzy Roulette Live, combines elements of traditional European roulette with features inspired by a well-known slot franchise.

Blueprint Gaming owns the intellectual property behind the Fishin’ Frenzy brand, while Playtech handled the design and development of the live roulette format. The companies aimed to incorporate bonus-style mechanics typically found in slot games while keeping the familiar structure of roulette intact.

The game is streamed from a themed studio designed to reflect a maritime setting, with live hosts overseeing each round. Visual elements from the Fishin’ Frenzy series appear during gameplay, including recognizable symbols and animations.

Certain in-game symbols, such as Fish, Fisherman, and Bonus icons, can activate additional features. These may introduce multipliers or trigger bonus rounds that influence potential payouts for that spin. Playtech said players can win up to 2,500 times their original stake when these features are activated.

Despite these additions, the core betting system remains consistent with European roulette, allowing wagers on numbers, colors, and other standard options.
