BetHog-raises-10m-in-Series-A-funding-to-roll-out-AI-live-dealers

BetHog, a crypto-focused casino and sportsbook company, has raised $10 million in a Series A funding round while introducing a new platform designed to bring artificial intelligence into live casino gaming. The company announced the launch of Sentient Studios, a business-to-business offering that enables operators to deploy AI-powered dealers across their platforms.

The funding round was led by Will Ventures and RockawayX, with additional participation from PCV, 6MV, Bullpen Capital, and Advancit Capital. With this latest investment, BetHog’s total funding has reached $16 million. The company said the new capital will support further development of its AI dealer technology and speed up the global rollout of Sentient Studios.

New Platform Aims to Replace Traditional Dealer Model

Sentient Studios is positioned as an alternative to the conventional live dealer system, which typically depends on studio environments and human croupiers. BetHog’s approach replaces those elements with software-driven solutions that allow operators to run games without the constraints of physical infrastructure.

The company said the platform allows casino operators to scale table availability in real time, customize dealer personalities, and create branded environments tailored to their audience. It also includes multi-language support, expanding accessibility for players in different regions.

Unlike many traditional setups that require upfront investment, Sentient Studios operates on a revenue-sharing model. This structure removes initial costs and allows operators to test the system without long-term commitments.

The launch builds on BetHog’s earlier introduction of its AI blackjack dealer, Sunny, which debuted in October 2025. Sunny is now available in 12 languages, and the company plans to expand its offerings to include baccarat and roulette later this year.

Early Results Show Strong Player Engagement

BetHog executives say early testing has shown strong user interest in AI-powered dealers. According to CEO and co-founder Nigel Eccles, the technology has already outperformed traditional formats in several key areas.

“We’ve tested our basic AI dealer over the past six months and have discovered that it is 10x more popular than its live dealer equivalent. In addition, we’ve seen better retention and player satisfaction,” Eccles said.

He also highlighted how AI dealers may appeal to players who feel uncomfortable interacting with human hosts. “We’ve actually found with our V1 that players are 10 times more likely to try our AI-powered live dealer than a human-powered live dealer. They report it as more welcoming and less intimidating.”

Eccles pointed to broader limitations within the existing live dealer model, suggesting that working conditions and operational constraints can affect the quality of the experience. He described many current streams as lacking engagement, adding that artificial intelligence could address those shortcomings by offering more consistent interaction.

Industry Faces Questions Over Trust and Regulation

Despite the potential advantages, AI-driven casino experiences present challenges. Live dealer gaming has traditionally relied on real people and physical equipment to establish credibility with players. Shifting to fully digital dealers may raise concerns about fairness, transparency, and trust.

Regulatory frameworks also remain a key consideration. Some jurisdictions maintain strict oversight of online gambling operations, and operators adopting AI technology will need to demonstrate compliance with rules governing game integrity and data handling.

Industry observers have also pointed to intellectual property and copyright considerations tied to synthetic content. These issues may require contractual safeguards as companies bring AI-based products to market.

Expansion Plans Target Global Operators

While Sentient Studios is initially available on BetHog’s own platform, the company is already in discussions with external operators about broader adoption. The goal is to extend the technology beyond its in-house offering and establish a presence across the global online casino market.

The company believes its software-first approach can address long-standing limitations in the sector, particularly around scalability and localization. By removing reliance on physical studios and staffing, operators can adjust their offerings more quickly and tailor experiences to different audiences.

BetHog, founded in early 2024 by a team that includes FanDuel co-founder Nigel Eccles, has focused on combining crypto-based gaming with emerging technologies. Its investor base, which includes digital asset firms such as RockawayX, reflects that strategy.
