Pragmatic Play Software, Games & Casinos

About the Company

Pragmatic Play Live (previously Extreme Live Gaming) was established in 2013 and it didn’t take long for the developer’s products to find their way to more than 100 reputable gaming sites around the world.

Having become part of the Novomatic Group one year later had a lot to do with it, as did making their portfolio accessible via third-party platforms such as Nyx and Greentube.

Though Extreme was initially targeting the Asian market, beginning of 2015 they’ve moved to UK and set up their studios in London. Nowadays they operate with licenses issued by the Malta Gaming Authority and the UK Gambling Commission.

In late 2018 it was announced that slots supplier Pragmatic Play are going to acquire and rebrand Extreme Live Gaming, which they have successfully done. PP are currently working on a complete revamp of their tables and allegedly have people who used to work at Evolution Gaming, Netent and Ezugi on board.

You can play their games at Leo Vegas and Mr.Green – both of whom are among our highest rated live dealer casinos.

Games Offered By Pragmatic Play Live

The majority of Pragmatic’s games are streamed from their London-based studio, but the company also features the so-called Live Box – an exciting hybrid of land-based and online gambling made possible by broadcasting directly from the casino floor.

It’s kind of like getting to play in some of the Europe’s popular casinos, such as Casino Admiral in Gibraltar, without having to set foot out of one’s home.

Extreme live dealer games will load quickly and rarely experience freezing. They ‘re broadcasted in HD, combining high video and audio quality with user-friendly interface which allows players to control sound, turn cameras on and off, and adjust video streaming quality.

The importance of the social element has been recognised and Live Chat functionality offered as a tool to interact with other game participants. Well-constructed Lobby displays available games grouped by type, indicating the language spoken by the dealer and the respective table’s betting limits. Multi-game tab allows one to pick 3 Roulette variants to play simultaneously.

Extreme Live Roulette

Extreme’s Classic Live Roulette is a European single-zero variant with a house edge of 2.7%. The dealer positioned behind the wheel seems to be sitting in a secluded corner of an empty casino floor, which is not necessarily the best way to replicate land-based casino environment . Bottom part of the screen is where you’ll find computer-generated betting table on which to place bets using chips placed underneath. Discreet buttons on the left-hand side are used to switch to full screen mode, turn video and audio on and off, pay a quick visit to the cashier, double-check game rules, and browse through your own gaming history. This is also where you’ll find a shortcut to the Lobby where you can switch to an alternative game.

Golden Ball Roulette seems to have been created mainly for the benefit of high-rollers, seeing that the game rewards the highest betting player every 20 spins. Up to 8 player’s cumulative bets are calculated and displayed on the leaderboard, and the one with the highest total gets a chance to “spin the ball” and win one of the prizes. Generous video feed displays the dealer and a complete Roulette table set in front of a window which offers a view of London. Bets are place using a digital image of the betting table which occupies the lower half of the screen. The Camera view button toggles between game views, allowing the player to choose either Classic or 3D view.

Live Reel Roulette incorporates side bets based on some of the most popular slot games from the provider’s parent company Novomatic. Variations include Book of Ra, Sizzling Hot, Lucky Lady’s Charm, Dolphin’s Pearl and Reel King. Once again, the game is not highly realistic as the video shows only the dealer and the wheel; all other elements are computer-generated. One-reel slot is spinning to the right of the croupier, and players that have placed bets on the winning symbol are paid at the corresponding odds – up to 80:1.

Club Roulette is a variant supposed to enhance the social element of the game. Players are encouraged to choose an avatar which will represent them at the table, and to communicate with one another. What you may actually experience is the voice of the croupier at the neighbouring table overpowering that of your own dealer. The game is visually superior to the classic variant, with a more attractive background and its host positioned to the left of the table.

Live Roulette betting limits vary by operator; at Mr Green Casino both Classic and Golden Ball Roulette except stakes ranging from €1 to €10,000, while Reel Roulette variants allow bets of €0.50 minimum and €5,000 maximum.

Extreme Live Blackjack

Extreme Blackjack sits up to 7 players simultaneously but numerous others can join in by betting behind. A single participant can also choose to occupy more than one seat, providing they are available. The game is played with eight decks, the dealer stands on soft 17 and peaks at their hole card for Blackjack. Players can split pairs, double down on all except split hands, and take Insurance against the dealer’s Ace. Surrender is not an option. One can, however, exploit Perfect Pairs (Mixed, Colour or Suited) and 21+3 side bets and potentially celebrate payouts as high as 100:1 (Suited Trips).

The table and the dealer take up the entire screen, thus making one feel almost as if sitting in a physical casino. Graphic overlays have been made as unobtrusive as possible to support this illusion. Betting limits and odds are displayed on the left, while the Chat box on the right-hand side allows participants to interact with the dealer and other players.

Just above it you’ll see a clock showing you how much time you’ve got to make a decision. The game plays fast thanks to short betting time of only about 10 seconds. High-rollers are offered to take a seat at a VIP Blackjack table with higher betting limits. At Mr Green, one can play Live Blackjack for a minimum of €5 and a maximum of €2,000 per round.

Extreme Live Baccarat

Extreme Live Baccarat comes in several  variants, namely Classic, VIP and Super 6. The latter is a no-commission game which pays even money on Banker wins but will only deliver half of the player’s stake if the Banker triumphs with the score of 6. One can take advantage of several side bets, such as Big / Small, Player Pair and Banker Pair.

Recent results are presented via an on-screen scorecard and statistics of winning hands and side bets. Bets made by other players are displayed on the right side of the screen. Visually, Live Baccarat looks a lot like Extreme’s Live Blackjack. You’ll have the impression of actually sitting at the table across from the dealer, especially if you take advantage of the full-screen mode. Betting limits at Mr Green range from €1 to €1,000.

FAQ on Pragmatic Play Live

Extreme Live Gaming claims their mission to be delivering unique and innovative products, and looking at games such as Golden Ball and Reel Roulette, we guess you could say they do deliver.

Their range might not be as wide as that of Evolution Gaming or even Ezugi (which was founded the same year), but in terms of quality they score higher than most of their competitors.

The usage of computer-generated images might be a tad overdone, which doesn’t help authenticity. Customisation when it comes to languages is another element where Extreme Live Gaming lags behind the field leaders.

Extreme dealers are almost without exception friendly, outgoing, and quite chatty. They will, at the very least, welcome players by name, initiate conversation, and congratulate individuals on winning. Some will even hum cheerful tunes and discuss week-end plans. Most speak good English and have obviously been well-trained. A huge difference when compared to those you’ll see hosting live games at some of the lesser known providers.

Players can choose to play Extreme Live games via desktop, TVs, smartphones or tablets. The developer has used HTML 5 protocol and optimised all their products for Android and iOS mobile devices, making them playable in both portrait and landscape mode.

As far as Roulette games go, even those packed with various elements, such as Reel Roulette, manage to offer more than decent visibility on the smallest of screens. Control buttons shift to where they’ll obstruct the view the least, while still remaining handy. Mobile Blackjack games are not as user-friendly and it is possible to end up placing a bet you never intended to make, especially on a smaller screen.

Extreme Live tries to meet the needs of different markets by providing specific roulette and blackjack tables with native speaking dealers – such as German Roulette and Italian Blackjack tables. In-game information is available in several other languages, and while the dealer might not be using them, these at least make sure most people will be able to understand what’s going on.
