Games Global has expanded its North American footprint with a launch in Alberta, becoming one of the suppliers entering Canada’s newest regulated online gaming market.

The move follows the official opening of Alberta’s regulated iGaming sector, which becomes only the second regulated online gambling jurisdiction in Canada after Ontario. The new market has attracted significant attention from operators and suppliers seeking to establish an early presence in the province.

After securing approval from the Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Commission (AGLC), Games Global has begun introducing its content portfolio to players in the province. The supplier arrives in Alberta with experience gained through its existing operations in Ontario, where its games are already available through licensed operators.

The expansion strengthens the company’s position in Canada and supports its broader strategy of increasing its reach across regulated markets throughout North America.

Players in Alberta will gain access to several of Games Global’s established slot titles, including Gold Blitz, 12 Masks of Fire and Fishin’ Pots of Gold. The supplier will also bring live casino products to the market through its exclusive partnership with live dealer provider OnAir Entertainment.

Alberta Expansion Builds on Ontario Presence

Games Global described Alberta’s market opening as an important development for the company’s regional ambitions. Having already established a presence in Ontario, the supplier sees the newly regulated province as an opportunity to further expand its distribution network and strengthen relationships with operators across Canada.

The company’s studio network and content portfolio have already generated results in Ontario, providing a foundation for its latest market entry.

The Alberta launch also adds another regulated jurisdiction to Games Global’s growing North American operations. Beyond Canada, the supplier has secured partnerships with major operators in several regulated US states, helping it build a broader presence across the continent.

Mark MacCombie, chief commercial officer at Games Global, said: “The opening of Alberta’s iGaming market is an exciting opportunity for Games Global. We have already established a strong presence in Ontario, where our content has proven resonant with players, and we are confident Alberta will build on this momentum.

North America remains a key strategic focus for us, and we will continue to work closely with both our valued operator partners and our exclusive studios to deliver exceptional gaming experiences to players across the continent’s regulated markets.”

OnAir Entertainment Brings Live Casino Portfolio

A key component of the Alberta rollout is the live casino content supplied through Games Global’s exclusive partnership with OnAir Entertainment.

Although OnAir Entertainment is a relatively young company, it has established itself as a notable participant in the live casino segment since its founding in January 2021. The company launched its first product, Live Blackjack, later that same year and has steadily expanded its offering since then.

Its portfolio now includes 15 live casino games, featuring titles such as Live Roulette, Eclipse Blackjack and Auto Roulette.

OnAir’s growth has been supported by substantial investment in production facilities. In 2023, the company opened a live casino studio in Spain, introducing multiple roulette variants including Nexus Roulette. Later that year, it launched its flagship studio in Tbilisi, Georgia.

The Tbilisi facility spans four floors and houses 130 gaming tables while employing approximately 1,700 people. Across all of its locations, OnAir currently supports around 220 live casino tables worldwide.

Supplier Continues North American Growth Strategy

The Alberta launch represents another step in Games Global’s efforts to strengthen its position in regulated markets across North America. By bringing both slot content and live casino products to the province, the supplier is aiming to capitalize on the opportunities created by Alberta’s regulatory framework.

For OnAir Entertainment, the expansion also provides additional distribution for its live dealer portfolio at a time when the company has maintained a relatively low profile compared with its rapid growth during its first few years of operation.

The provider has not announced major new game releases since last year’s SBC Summit, making recent developments particularly notable as it looks to build on the momentum established through its international studio network.
