Aristocrat Completes Acquisition of Roxor Gaming

Posted on February 8, 2023 | 6:45 am

Aristocrat Leisure Limited, the well-known Australian supplier of slot games for land-based and online casinos, has announced that it has completed the acquisition of Roxor Gaming, a business-to-business online real money gaming supplier.

The acquisition was first announced in September 2022 and it includes two in-house studios that operate under the Roxor Gaming brand. The supplier will become a part of Aristocrat’s own real money gaming business, recently branded as Anaxi

The Remote Game Server and content publishing technology developed by Roxor Gaming are expected to accelerate the growth of Anaxi in the iGaming market, as the Australian company is keen on developing its online gaming arm.

Roxor Gaming was founded in 2019 by Noel Hayden, the chairman and co-founder of Gamesys, and it previously operated as the in-house studio and product team of the Gamesys Group.

Initially Aristocrat Leisure Limited tried to enter the online gaming market through the acquisition of Playtech, but the Australian company’s bid to acquire the developer was rejected by the shareholders.

Speaking about the completion of the acquisition of Roxor Gaming, Mitchell Bowen, the Chief Executive Officer of Anaxi, declared himself “thrilled” and also revealed the company’s ambition to become “the leading gaming platform for the regulated online RMG industry.”

Moreover, the Anaxi Chief Executive Officer described the addition of Roxor Gaming to Aristocrat as “an exciting and important step forward”, adding that “the Roxor team is exceptionally talented.”

On the same day, Aristocrat Leisure Limited also announced that Tracey Elkerton, the company’s Chief Compliance Officer, was promoted to the Executive Steering Committee and will report directly to Trevor Croker, the Chief Executive Officer of the Australian gaming giant.

Speaking about this appointment, Trevor Croker described it as “another step forward” in the company’s “long-standing commitment to excellence in governance” and added that it “will help further strengthen” the company’s compliance culture.

Aristocrat Leisure Limited was founded all the way back in 1953 and since then it grew into a company with a major global presence, operating in over 90 countries all around the world. The company’s headquarters and administrative offices are still located in Sydney, but Aristocrat Leisure Limited also has marketing and development offices in the United States, South Africa and Russia.
