Microgaming has announced the results of its seventh annual Gift of Giving campaign. Based on the votes of the world-leading software provider’s partners and operators, £30,000 were divided between six global charities with GamCare debuting in the “responsible gambling“ category.

The Gift of Giving program is carried out under the PlayItForward initiative launched by the Isle of Man brand in 2014. Aiming to power positive changes across our planet, this community-driven program is, above all, focused on people helping them through raising money for a number of charitable organizations.

Greater Involvement In CSR

During the 2019 Gift of Giving voting scheme, Save the Children (United Kingdom), WaterAid (Africa), Foodbank Lifeline Foundation (Malta), Childline (Gibraltar), and Unicef (Rest of the World) were named winners of each region while GamCare took the trophy in the newly-founded responsible gaming category.

Microgaming, which recently confirmed one more Mega Moolah millionaire, has donated £30,000 to be shared by the six charitable organizations. Thus, the total sum of the company’s seven-year contribution has risen to £210,000.

John Coleman, CEO of Microgaming, commented:

“I’d like to thank all of our customers for their generous votes and for supporting our Gift of Giving initiative for the seventh year running. Involving the wider industry in CSR is important to us at Microgaming, which is why we included the new responsible gambling category – giving back is what we are all about. Well done to the winning charities in 2019’s campaign and we hope these donations will help you to keep doing what you do best.”

GamCare Among Six Global Charities

None of these charities needs a special introduction with Unicef working in over 190 countries and territories and Save the Children changing millions of lives in all corners of the world. Since its inception in 1981, WaterAid has provided 27 million people with clean water while relatively young Foodbank Lifeline supplies with food families and individuals in need.

As for GamCare, it operates the National Gambling HelpLine, making every effort to support players of land-based and online casinos through a range of educational and preventional initiatives.

We’re grateful to Microgaming for naming us as beneficiary of the Gift of Giving campaign this year and this will contribute to our wider work in minimising gambling-related harm, helping us to reach the people who need us,“ said Anna HemmingsCEO at GamCare.
