Playtech, the global provider of slot games, software and live dealer games for online casinos, has announced the signing of a new partnership with Fremantle, the international television production company.

The deal between the two companies regards the Family Feud franchise as Playtech wants to transpose the legendary television show into a live casino title and then release it globally.

The agreement includes the United States market and comprises the Family Fortunes IP from the United Kingdom. The Family Feud television show started out all the way back in 1976 in the United States and it features two families who compete to name the most popular answers to survey questions to win cash and prizes. The program has become popular in other countries as well, there were multiple regional adaptations in over 50 international markets outside the United States.

Fremantle is a British company that produces and distributes television programs, founded in 1994 under the Pearson Television brand. The company owns some of the most successful television formats, including Idols, Got Talent and The X Factor, which have been sold in multiple countries all over the world.

A Game-Changer

Speaking about the partnership with Fremantle, Edo Haitin, the Chief Executive Officer of Playtech Live, did not contain his enthusiasm and described the agreement between the two companies as “a game-changer.”

Edo Haitin explained that by adding the Family Feud franchise into Playtech’s live casino offering, the company is “bridging the worlds of game show entertainment and online gaming,” delivering players “an immersive experience.”

The Playtech executive declared himself “thrilled” to have secured such a partnership with Fremantle and added that the deal underscores the company’s commitment to “always deliver the best possible entertainment experience.”

Erica Gadecki, Senior Vice President for Partnership Solutions at Fremantle, said that the partnership with Playtech Live represents “a perfect opportunity to expand into the interactive entertainment landscape while building upon the Family Feud legacy.”

Aaron Berndtson, Head of Strategic Partnerships and Entertainment at Playtech, also declared himself “thrilled” to have entered this partnership and described it as “another milestone to deliver unique and captivating experiences to players worldwide.”

This is not the first time that Playtech brings the television world into live casino gaming. In 2021 the company launched The Money Drop Live, a game that is based on a very popular television series. A few months later, the supplier unveiled “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?” Live Roulette following the signing of a five-year partnership agreement with Sony Pictures Television.
