Evolution has marked the opening of a new Live Dealer studio in Grand Rapids with recognition from Michigan lawmakers, adding another stage to the company’s activities in the state.

During a celebration for the new facility, state legislators presented Evolution with two State of Michigan Special Tributes. The recognition focused on the company’s investment in Michigan, the employment opportunities it has created so far and the additional jobs expected to come from the Grand Rapids expansion.

Evolution described the occasion as another milestone for its operations in Michigan and said the tributes also acknowledged the opportunities that the new studio is expected to provide for the local community.

The company did not provide additional figures for the number of positions associated with the Grand Rapids site in its announcement. Its update instead centered on the expansion itself and the state recognition accompanying the studio celebration.

Grand Rapids Becomes Part of Evolution’s Michigan Growth

The opening gives Evolution a new Live Dealer operation in Grand Rapids as the company continues investing in its Michigan presence.

The two Special Tributes recognized both the employment opportunities Evolution has already created and the jobs expected from the latest expansion. The company thanked those who contributed to the development and described the Grand Rapids studio as the beginning of another phase of its growth in the state.

Live Dealer studios form the production environment for Evolution’s live casino games, with presenters and game equipment forming part of the streamed experience. The Grand Rapids announcement, however, focused specifically on the studio opening, employment and recognition from state legislators rather than providing details about the games that will be operated from the facility.

The company’s Michigan update arrived during the same period in which Evolution was also expanding its live game catalogue with a new global release.

Disco Balls Joins Evolution’s Live Game Lineup

Evolution launched Disco Balls globally on September 9, introducing a live ball-drawing format built around multipliers that can increase during each round.

The game takes inspiration from Funky Time and allows players to choose numbers from 1 to 20. Bets can also cover multiple outcomes through Low, High, Even and Odd selections.

After betting closes, the Disco Cat randomly places multipliers across the betting grid and assigns either a Disco or VIP Disco Bonus symbol to one number. The ball machine then begins producing different types of balls.

Step balls increase either a red or gold multiplier ladder, which can move from 5x up to 500x. They also bring the Disco Cat back into the round, creating another opportunity for multipliers and bonus symbols to appear. A Result ball determines the winning number and finishes the main draw.

When that Result ball corresponds to a number carrying a Bonus symbol, the game moves into either the Disco or VIP Disco Bonus. Multipliers collected during the main game continue into the bonus round.

Mr Funky then moves across a virtual dance floor and collects further multipliers until he falls from the board. The VIP version uses a larger dance floor, giving the character more space to continue moving. Total multipliers can reach as high as 10,000x.

Todd Haushalter, Evolution’s Chief Product Officer, said: “At Evolution, we’re always thinking about how we can grow the gaming industry and contribute something the world has never seen before. With Disco Balls, our goal was to make the base game that you play every round just as fun as a bonus round.

Haushalter added: “Today’s player is demanding increasingly more of everything, and this game brings the action. From the second bets close, players see the potential pays go higher and higher, and the tension is incredible. This game is like nothing we have done before, and we are very proud because we feel it really advances the industry with a whole new approach to game shows.”

Studio Expansion and Product Activity Continue in Parallel

The Grand Rapids opening and Disco Balls release represent separate areas of Evolution’s recent activity. In Michigan, the company is expanding its physical Live Dealer presence and highlighting employment tied to that growth. On the product side, Disco Balls adds another live game format to its global portfolio.

Evolution said it was proud of the employees and others involved in reaching the Grand Rapids milestone and expressed appreciation for the two State of Michigan Special Tributes.

Its new live game, meanwhile, uses the evolving multiplier system throughout the standard draw rather than restricting multiplier growth to a separate feature. Step balls can repeatedly increase the ladders before a Result ball appears, while a Bonus result transfers the accumulated values into one of the two bonus games.
