OnAir Entertainment, the fast-growing supplier of live dealer games for online casinos, has been accused by a whistleblower of having spied on Playtech by having access to information regarding planned new features and games.
The accusations were brought forward by Ivans Ivanovs, a former employee of OnAir Entertainment. The former employee alleges that people within the organization had unlawful access to the internal systems of Playtech, a fellow supplier of live casino content and other types of games for online casinos.
Ivans Ivanovs said that the unlawful access lasted for a whole two years and it was made possible by Igor Veliks, a former important employee of Playtech Live’s office in Latvia.
The allegations revealed that members of the product committee at OnAir Entertainment were given an important competitive edge by the confidential information that was gathered from Playtech as Igor Veliks maintained access to the supplier’s servers. Among the information accessed the whistleblower listed the company’s market strategy, exclusive partnerships with online casino operators, plus products and features roadmaps.
The whistleblower revealed the whole thing through posts on LinkedIn in which he also called for an inquiry which would fully clarify which of the products and innovations released by OnAir Entertainment were made possible by violations of copyright belonging to Playtech.
