Why is the European live roulette game type is better to play than the American? What about the French roulette?

Updated on May 16, 2019 | 2:22 pm

American Roulette has two zeros on the wheel, but the payout is still 35 to 1. This makes the house edge almost double of that in European Roulette – 5.26% to 2.7%.

French Roulette is identical to the European variation apart from having a “la partage” rule. This lets you recoup half of your stake (on even money bets ONLY)  if the ball lands on zero.

So in a scenario where you bet ₹1,000 on black and the zero falls, you would only lose half of your wager.

This rule makes French Roulette the best variation to play statistically as the house edge is cut to 1.35% on even money bets.
