Ladbrokes Live Casino Review

With over 130 years of British history behind them, Ladbrokes is one of the longest running brands in the betting world. Founded in 1886 as a commission agent on race horses trained at Ladbroke Hall in Warwickshire, Ladbrokes is now one of the biggest operators in the UK with an international reputation and fingers in many gambling pies. In 2016, they merged with fellow UK betting big shots Coral – creating a truly huge partnership running over 1000 betting shops between them. Ladbrokes’ online casino is partnered with industry mainstay Playtech, and licenced by the GBC and Gibraltar gambling authorities. Pair that with their longstanding reputation as a brand, and you can be almost certain your money and details are safe here. Unless you lose to the house of course, but that one is all on you!

Ladbrokes’ Live Casino has 30+ games provided by Playtech, covering all the usual live casino standards (blackjack, baccarat, roulette and poker) as well as a few other games such as Hi-Lo and Sic-Bo. We found the lobby to be fairly slow to load in places actually, and wasn’t as smooth as it could have been. The selection also wasn’t the widest we have seen – but definitely wasn’t small either. As with other Playtech powered casinos, the live games are split into several categories, called experiences, in this case: Ladbrokes, Sapphire and Grand Royale. As far as we could see though, these made little difference beyond betting limits and cosmetic differences.

Localisation/Native Tables

Ladbrokes only had two localised live table with dealers or croupiers in languages other than English when we looked, and this was German and Russian. This was a bit disappointing, but not entirely unexpected from a Playtech powered casino that forgoes the more popular options by Evolution Gaming. However the German table had a ‘new’ tag on it, so maybe Ladbrokes is adding more of the localised tables as we speak. Keep an eye out for that! Still, the Ladbrokes site itself does come in a wide selection of languages which are all easily visible and accessible from any page of the casino. These are: German, Spanish, Chinese, Czech, Hungarian, Norwegian, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian and Slovenian. A pretty strong list if we say so ourselves! Just a shame that almost all the tables are in English.

Private Tables

Ladbrokes offers 4 private tables, which are proudly displayed at the top of the live casino site. 3 of these are blackjack and 1 is roulette. At Private Tables, punters can access exclusive offers and experience immersive Ladbrokes branding from their own live studio. Whilst 4 private tables is hardly the most expansive selection available online, it certainly is better than none. Ladbrokes also makes them easy to access and find, which is a nice feature.

Mobile

Ladbrokes has an app for both iOS and Android, which both work well. The mobile site also runs smoothly, even on an older device such as the Samsung Galaxy S3 we used to access it with. However, the Playtech lobby is not available on the mobile site – instead all the games are accessed through the Ladbrokes site itself. However, this is organised well, is easy to navigate and loads efficiently on all manner of devices. All the live casino games are present and correct too, with no shortcomings for mobile players – which is good.  

Ladbrokes has a good range of methods to deposit funds, although some of these may vary depending on the country you are playing from. Unfortunately though, despite having a lot of banking options, only a few of these are also usable when withdrawing. Which is quite a common feature at many less scrupulous online casinos, but we expected better from a name like Ladbrokes. So bettors beware when depositing here, that you may have to withdraw using a different method. Whilst not a huge problem in itself, it may cause you some inconveniences down the road. So take a look before you deposit to save yourself worry at a later date.
